Here at Shift, we take privacy and security very seriously. Right off the bat, we want you to know that none of what is contained within the apps you add to Shift is ever shared with Shift's servers, employees, or data partners. Ever.

How secure is Shift?

First off, Shift is very secure to use. All the data that Shift collects is saved locally to your computer. Nothing gets saved over the Shift server, so no one would have access to them. You can learn more about it here

Is Shift accessing my default browser?

Yes. Once you download Shift, the bookmarks, passwords, and browser settings will be imported from your default browser to streamline the setup. Hence, Shift will access the default browser. However, all the data will be saved locally to your computer; nothing will be uploaded to the server.
