Bugs Fixed 🐛🔨
- We noticed that when you opened a new window of Shift it would no longer preserve the last window size you had set. We’ve made some changes so that now the last window size you had Shift set as will persist when you open a new Shift window.
- We realized that the Search function in Settings was not returning the expected results when only a partial search term was entered (such as “addre” or “address”). We’ve issued a fix that will ensure search results are returned accurately when looking in Settings and don’t cause an infinite search loop.
- Some Chromium leftovers were found and fixed in this release: (a) the New Tab page was flipping its tab title between New Tab (expected) and Chrome//:newtab, and (b) the Omnibox was displaying a Google URL when the user was actually on a Jira site. Both of these are now corrected.
- We noticed that when Shift launched post-install it was showing the URL for shiftnews.com rather than the expected prompt to “Search the Web…”. We’ve issued a fix to ensure the Omnibox looks as expected when a user first sees Shift after installation.
- We noticed some bizarre behaviour when logging in to Jira from a Google account that would cause Shift to crash. The strangest part is that it would only happen once a day. If you refreshed Shift and took the same steps, you’d be able to access Jira and Shift would not crash. We’ve fixed this once-a-day crash problem with this release.
Other Notable Updates 👀
- We've added a new slider panel for quick access to the Shift Knowledge Base. Click the question mark icon for easy access to self-serve support resources and our support request form. With the support panel, you can get answers without searching or opening another tab!
- We’ve expanded the slider size across all sliders (such as Quick Settings) to be full page height.
