Shift makes it easy to find the meaning of words, similar words, and information about almost anything! You can use the Dictionary, Thesaurus, and Encyclopedia in one place.

Here’s how to use these features:

1. Dictionary

The dictionary helps you find the meaning of words. To use the dictionary:

  1. Navigate to the Dictionary app 

  2. On the left-hand side, type the word you want to search for under the “Search Dictionary.” 

  3. Click on Search.

  4. The dictionary will show you the word’s meaning.

2. Thesaurus

The thesaurus helps you find words that mean the same (synonyms) or the opposite (antonyms). To use the thesaurus:

  1. Navigate to the Dictionary app 

  2. On the left-hand side, type the word you want to search for under the “Search Thesaurus.” 

  3. Click on Search.

  4. The thesaurus will show you the word’s meaning.

3. Encyclopedia

The encyclopedia gives you facts about people, places, and things. To use the encyclopedia:

  1. Navigate to the Dictionary app 

  2. On the left-hand side, type the word you want to search for under the “Search encyclopedia.” 

  3. Click on Search.

  4. You will see the search results from the Encyclopedia.

Now, you can easily look up words, find new ways to say things, and learn something new every day—all in Shift!
