  • Chromium Update: Upgraded to Chromium 130 for improved performance, security, and compatibility.
  • Tab Pinning: Pin your favorite tabs for quick access to your most-used websites, keeping them organized and always within reach.
  • Connection Notifications for Knowledge Base Drawer: Users will now be notified if the connection is lost while using the Knowledge Base drawer. The drawer will automatically reload once the connection is restored.

Bugs Fixed 🐛🔨

  • Improved Tab and App Behavior:
    • Fixed laggy animations when reordering apps in the topbar. Tooltips now hide immediately during dragging for a seamless experience.
    • Resolved an issue where tabs could get stuck in the dragged state when moving the cursor to the bottom of the screen. Tabs now behave correctly during reordering within the tab bar.
    • Fixed an intermittent issue where using Alt + Left Arrow to navigate back a page sometimes failed. The shortcut now works consistently.
  • Download and Import Fixes:
    • Resolved an issue where downloaded files in the Templates App displayed in the wrong order. The newest downloads now appear at the top.
    • Fixed an issue where bookmarks and passwords were not importing during setup or through Account and Services. History and bookmarks now import as expected. CSV uploads remain functional.
  • Advanced Settings and Default Browser Improvements:
    • Fixed scrolling issues in Advanced Settings for small windows or high zoom levels, ensuring all categories, including 'About Shift,' are fully accessible.
    • Resolved an issue with search engine warning visibility, ensuring warnings display correctly in Advanced Settings.
    • Fixed a problem where links failed to open when Shift was set as the default browser. Links now open reliably without errors.
  • "About Shift" Fixes:
    • Addressed crashes when selecting "About Shift" from the task tray. Shift now correctly navigates to the help page.
    • Fixed an issue where selecting "About Shift" failed to navigate correctly when no tabs were open.
  • Restore Pages Fix: Fixed an issue where the “Restore previous pages” prompt sometimes failed to appear after reopening Shift. The prompt now displays reliably.

Other Notable Updates 👀

  • Improved Bookmark and Navigation Management:
    • Enhanced bookmark organization with drag-and-drop functionality, visual clues, and auto-expanding folders for easier placement and reordering.
    • Simplified navigation for full-page panels and the Shift Browser with a new "Close Settings" button and restored standard window controls.
  • Enhanced Language and Spell Check Support: Added a Languages page in Advanced Settings for managing spell check preferences. Users can toggle spell check for supported languages, customize dictionaries, and access streamlined language tools.
  • Streamlined Quick Settings: Removed the Apps section from Quick Settings for a cleaner interface. Apps can now be managed directly from the Apps list.
  • Startup Setting Update: Removed the “Use current pages” option from the "Open a specific page or set of pages" startup setting. Users can still manually enter URLs for pages to open on startup.
