You are more than welcome to have a mechanic be present at the appointment if you wish, but we can only allow for a visual inspection of the vehicle prior to purchase.
For liability reasons, we are unable to allow a vehicle on a test drive to be brought to a repair facility and be put on a lift, or altered in any way during an inspection. The vehicle is still under Shift's insurance and ownership at that point in time. Additionally we cannot approve OBD scanners to be inserted into the vehicle as they can inadvertently cause electrical issues if used improperly.
As a reminder — Shift performs a 150 point inspection on every vehicle listed on our website. You can review details from our inspection on the vehicle page as shown below. We do our absolute best to be as transparent as possible about the vehicles we sell.
If you do purchase the vehicle, you have a 7 day return window in which to have the vehicle inspected. If there are any findings from the inspection you’d wish to discuss, or you’d like to inquire about a return — we have a dedicated Customer Support team available 7 days a week, 8am-7pm PST to assist.
