You are more than welcome to have a mechanic present at the test drive appointment, but we can only allow for a visual inspection of the car prior to purchase.
For liability reasons, we are unable to allow a car on a test drive to be brought to a repair facility and be put on a lift, or altered in any way during an inspection. The car is still under our insurance and ownership at that point in time. Additionally, we cannot approve OBD scanners to be inserted into the car as they can inadvertently cause electrical issues if used improperly.
As a reminder, we perform a 150-point inspection on every car listed on our site. You can review details from our inspection on the vehicle details page for the car you choose to test drive. We do our absolute best to be as transparent as possible about the cars we sell.
Finally, if you do purchase a car from us, you have a 7-day return window in which to have the vehicle inspected. If there are any findings from the inspection you’d wish to discuss, or you’d like to inquire about a return, we have a dedicated Customer Support team available to assist.
