✨ New Things
- Easier app discovery: The Apps Directory now has new sections — Categories, Collections, Featured, and Popular — so it’s easier to find and add apps you’ll actually use.
- Download protection controls: You can now turn Shift’s download protection on or off, giving you more control over your browsing safety.
- Better protection from harmful downloads: Shift uses the same trusted Safe Browsing technology as Chrome to help block dangerous files before they cause problems.
🐛 Bugs Fixed
- Shift now reopens to the right tab: After unlocking your computer, Shift correctly brings you back to the Home tab — no more extra tabs popping up.
- Support button works properly: Clicking the Support icon in Quick Settings now closes the drawer like it’s supposed to.
- Bookmark folders line up properly: The menu that opens when you click a bookmark folder now appears exactly where it should.
- No more overflowing text: Long website addresses (like chrome://password-manager) are now displayed properly without pushing the logo out of place.
- Fullscreen works as expected: Shift now returns to full size when you exit fullscreen mode (F11), instead of shrinking the window.
- Maximize/restore button fixed: The window maximize button now works properly when clicked.
- Quick Settings opens smoothly again: The animation when opening the Quick Settings drawer is back and working.
- Tabs reload properly after a crash: If Shift crashes or you use “Continue where you left off,” your tabs — including the Home page — now reload without errors.
- Tabs in apps look better: When using installed apps like Maps or Package Tracker, tabs now look more consistent in light and dark mode.
- Support icon is now correct: The Support button now shows a question mark instead of the wrong icon.
- About Shift shows the logo again: The Shift logo is now back where it belongs in the About section.
- Find on Page remembers your search: If you reopen “Find on Page,” your last search is still there and selected.
- Security message is accurate: The lock icon now correctly shows that Shift’s Home Page is secure.
- App tabs display correctly: Long web addresses in app tabs are now shortened properly, and the bar stays the right size.
- Search bar focus fixed after unlock: When Shift pops up again after unlocking, the search bar is correctly selected and ready to type in.
- No more crashing on exit: Exiting Shift from the system tray no longer causes a crash or makes Shift think it crashed when it didn’t.
- Extension button says “Add to Shift”: The Chrome Web Store now correctly says “Add to Shift” instead of “Add to Chrome” when installing extensions.
👀 Other Notable Updates
- Download messages are clearer: If a download is canceled or there’s an error, the message now clearly says what happened.
- Disabled buttons look right: Buttons that are turned off now look dimmed, whether you’re using light or dark mode.
- Simplified settings: The Home Page and New Tab settings are now combined into one setting to make things easier.
