New here? A quick overview of Shift accounts & subscriptions
We see a lot of similar questions pop up about Shift subscriptions, so here’s a quick, high-level refresher on how Shift accounts and subscriptions work before you post.
Shift plans (at a glance)
- Free – Core Shift features with some limits (max 5 Spaces and 10 Apps), Shift AI with limits
- Advanced – Unlimited Spaces & apps, plus premium features, like Expanded AI
- Teams – Everything in Advanced, with centralized billing and license management for teams
For a full breakdown of features by plan, see:
Billing basics
- Shift subscriptions are billed annually or monthly.
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled.
Where to manage your subscription
Most billing and account changes can be handled in the Shift Account Portal:
This is where you can check your plan, renewal date, and payment info.
Teams plans — who pays?
If you’re on Shift for Teams:
- Billing is handled by the Team Admin
- Team members don’t manage payments or subscriptions individually
- Admins control licenses and access for the team
If you’re unsure who your admin is, that’s usually the best first question to ask internally.
When to contact Support directly
Some things are best handled privately for security reasons, including:
- Charges or refunds
- Missing access after upgrading
- Account or billing issues that need review
