Searching in Shift and the Home Button

  • Updated

Searching in Shift is very similar to searching in any other browser. Read on for more details.

Searching in Shift

Shift is Chromium-based, which means it’s built on the same open-source framework as browsers like Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. This gives Shift a fast, secure, and modern browsing experience.

Shift allows you to search using whichever engine is set up in your browser settings. You can customize your search engine preferences just like you would in other Chromium browsers.

Using the Search Bar

  1. Open Shift and locate the search bar (also referred to as the omnibox).

  2. Type your query and press Enter.

Using the Home Button

1. Click the Home icon Home.svg.

2. This takes you to the main hub for searching, opening new tabs, and accessing settings

*The photo above shows the Home icon on the right side with a red arrow pointing to it.
