When you use Shift, it can automatically bring your bookmarks and passwords from your browser. This happens because:

1. Syncing: Shift syncs with your browser to make things easier for you.

2. Google Account: If you use a Google account, Shift can use it to sync your data.

Importing Bookmarks and Passwords in Shift

The import process happens automatically. You can't stop it. Your bookmarks and passwords are stored only on your computer. Shift's servers and employees cannot access them. This process is safe and helps you get started with Shift quickly.

Important Note About Importing in Shift

The import of bookmarks and passwords happens only once. After that, any changes in your other browser won't show in Shift automatically. You will need to update them yourself. Shift does not sync with other browsers.
