How to download a file in Shift Browser

Download files in Shift Browser by clicking a download link or using Save as from the right-click menu. You can download documents, images, videos, and PDFs, then track progress in the downloads tray.

Download a file on your computer

  1. Open Shift Browser.
  2. Go to the website that contains the file.
  3. Download the file:
    1. For most files, click the download link, or right-click the file and select Save as.
    2. For images, right-click the image and select Save image as.
    3. For videos, click the site's Download button. If one isn't available, right-click the video and select Save as.
    4. For PDFs, right-click the link and select Save link as.
  4. If prompted, choose where to save the file on your computer.
  5. Click Save.

Note: Some websites don't allow downloads. If you don't see download options, the site owner may have disabled them.

Manage your downloads in Shift Browser

After your download starts, the downloads tray opens automatically so you can track its progress. When the progress bar disappears, the download is complete.

Use the downloads tray

You can:

  • Open a downloaded file by clicking its name or selecting Open.
  • Open the file's location by clicking the folder icon.
  • View recent downloads by clicking the Downloads icon in the top bar.

View all downloads

  1. Click the Downloads icon.
  2. Select Show all downloads.

You can also open Quick Settings and select Downloads.

To remove an item from your downloads list, click the X next to it.
