What You’ll Find in Appearance Settings
Inside the Appearance settings, you can adjust the following options:
- Show or Hide Bookmarks – Toggle the bookmarks bar on or off to keep your browser tidy.
- Font Size – Adjust the text size on web pages to make it easier to read. Click the dropdown menu and select from the size options: Very small, Small, Medium, Large, and Very large.
- Customize Font –Allows you to adjust how text appears in your browser. Here’s what you can modify:
- Font Size – Use the slider to adjust the overall size of text displayed in the browser.
- Minimum Font Size – Use the slider to set the smallest allowable font size in the browser.
- Standard Font – Select a font from the dropdown menu to set as the default text style for the browser. This is the default font style used for most web pages when no specific font is set by the website.
- Serif Font – Choose a serif-style font from the dropdown menu. Serif-font is used when a website specifies a serif font (fonts with small decorative strokes at the ends of letters, like Times New Roman). You’ll see this font in body text on websites that use serif typography.
- Sans-serif Font – Choose a sans-serif-style font from the dropdown menu. This is used when a website specifies a sans-serif font (fonts without decorative strokes, like Arial or Helvetica). Many modern websites default to sans-serif fonts for a clean and simple look.
- Fixed-Width Font – Select a fixed-width (monospace) font from the dropdown menu. This is used for displaying code, terminal output, or preformatted text, where each character takes up the same amount of space (e.g., Courier New or Consolas). You’ll see this in developer tools, code blocks, or text editors within the browser.
- Mathematical Font – Choose a font specifically used for displaying mathematical expressions. This is used for displaying mathematical formulas, equations, and symbols when a website includes mathematical notation. It ensures that special characters like Greek letters and mathematical operators appear correctly.
- Page Zoom – Set a default zoom level so web pages always appear larger or smaller based on your preference. You can choose from 25% all the way up to 500% zoom, simply click the dropdown and select your percentage level.
Try different settings to make your browsing experience more comfortable!
