Shift allows you to customize your default preferred languages and adjust built-in spell-check parameters. Configuring these options ensures that webpage rendering, document typing, and communication tools line up comfortably with your workflow.
How to Locate Your Language Settings
To access your language and dictionary preferences, follow these step-by-step navigation paths:
Click the gear icon in the upper-right corner of Shift to open the Quick Settings drawer.
Scroll to the bottom of the drawer panel and click Advanced Settings.
From the list of configuration categories on the left-hand sidebar, click Language.
Change Your Preferred Webpage Language
You can configure Shift to prioritize displaying web pages in your chosen language when multiple translations are available.
Please Note: This adjustment applies to your rendered web application data and open tabs. It will not alter the foundational internal system menus, buttons, or dashboard paths of the core Shift application framework itself.
Navigate to your main Language settings menu.
Locate the Preferred languages header.
Click the Add languages button.
Browse or type to find your desired language, select it, and confirm your choice.
Troubleshooting Tip: If a loaded web application fails to transition to your newly added language immediately, perform a hard restart of Shift to force the application server to sync.
Customize Spell-Check Settings
Managing your dictionary parameters prevents typos and auto-correct errors when typing emails or messaging colleagues.
While inside the main Language settings menu, locate the Spell check section.
Toggle the primary master switch ON or OFF to activate or disable real-time text scanning.
Review your listed languages underneath the toggle switch. You can activate individual languages independently—allowing you to write with multi-language spellcheck support simultaneously across different browser windows.
