Understanding Shift Browser for Teams
Shift is the perfect tool for collaborative deep work. While every member gets their own private workspace, the Team plan simplifies the way you pay for and manage your group's access.
1. What's the difference between Shift Advanced and Shift for Teams?
Shift for Teams includes every feature found in Shift Advanced, but it adds tools specifically for businesses. You'll get centralized billing, a dedicated team dashboard, and admin controls to manage all your licenses in one place.
2. How much does Shift for Teams cost?
The plan costs $149 USD per user each year. You can view the full pricing details on our website.
3. Can I control what apps or accounts my Team Members use?
Team members maintain their own privacy and control. Each person sets up their own Spaces and chooses which email accounts, apps, and extensions they want to use. This keeps your team's individual workflows flexible and secure.
4. Can I set a default Shift setup for new team members?
Every team member starts with a fresh canvas. This allows each person to build a setup that fits their specific role. Currently, team members deploy their own standard setup rather than using a global template.
5. Do I get reimbursed for unused team licenses?
Shift for Teams uses annual billing per license. While we don't offer refunds for vacant licenses during the middle of a term, it's easy to reassign that seat to a new team member at any time.
6. What's the difference between a Team Admin and a Member?
Admins: You'll manage the billing, buy new licenses, and assign users to the team. You're the only one with access to the Team dashboard.
Members: You'll use Shift just like an individual power user. You won't see any billing or admin controls in your sidebar.
7. Can I have more than one Admin on my team?
We currently support one Admin per team to keep your billing and security simple.
8. Does my Shift Advanced discount carry over to Teams?
Individual promo codes are for personal accounts and won't apply to a Team plan. If you upgrade, the price difference will show up at checkout. We do still offer special discounts for Non-profit and Educator.
9. Are there discounts available for Shift for Teams?
Our team plans are priced to provide the best value for businesses, so they aren't eligible for individual promotional coupons. You can check our official coupon policy for more details.
