This article outlines how to enable and manage desktop notifications and sound notifications in Shift.
Ensure your OS permissions grant Shift access
Make sure Shift has the appropriate permissions on your computer to allow for desktop notifications:
How to manage notifications for apps
- Click on the gear icon
to open Quick Settings.
- At the bottom of the Quick Settings drawer, click on the Advanced Settings button.
- Select “Privacy & Security” from the lefthand sidebar.
- Click on the “Site Settings” option.
- Find the section for Permissions and click on “Notifications”.
- From here you can change default settings for the whole browser, or customize by adding certain sites or editing existing apps in the list.
- To edit the notification settings for an existing app, click the arrow icon beside the app you’d like to edit.
- This will open the full list of preferences for that app.
- Toggle your preference next to Notifications (Allow or Block).
- Toggle your preference next to Sounds (Allow or Block).
