If something isn't working right in Shift Browser, our Support team may ask you for your debug logs. Debug logs are a ZIP file with recent technical details from Shift that help us find and fix the problem faster.
Note: You need Shift Browser version 147.2.2 or later to export debug logs.
Export debug logs from Quick Settings
- Click the gear icon to open Quick Settings.
- Scroll down to the Other section.
- Click Export Debug Logs.
- A save window opens.
- Your file is already named with today’s date and time, like shift-debug-logs-2026-10-30….
- Choose where to save it, or keep the default Downloads folder
- Then click Save.
Export debug logs with a keyboard shortcut
You can also export your logs without opening Quick Settings:
- macOS: Shift + Option + Command + L
- Windows: Ctrl + Shift + Alt + L
Where to find your file
Our debug logs save to your Downloads folder by default, unless you chose a different folder. Look for a file that starts with shift-debug-logs followed by the date.
Send your debug logs to our Support team
- Reply to your existing support email, or submit a new support request.
- Attach the zip file.
- Tell us what you were doing when the problem happened. Steps to reproduce the issue or a short screen recording help a lot.
Your debug logs are only used to help our Support and Development teams troubleshoot your issue.
Shift won't open?
If Shift Browser won't launch, you can't export debug logs. Follow the steps in What to do if Shift Browser is crashing to send us your crash files instead.
