If you're considering uninstalling Shift for other reasons, we're here to help! Below, you'll find step-by-step instructions for uninstalling Shift on Windows 10 and Windows 11.
Uninstalling Shift on Windows 10
- Click the Start button, usually located in the bottom-left corner of your screen.
- Type “uninstall” in the search bar.
- Click on "Add or remove programs" from the search results.
- Scroll down the list of programs to find Shift.
- Click on Shift, then click "Uninstall".
- Click Uninstall again when prompted.
- If a User Account Control (UAC) dialog box appears asking for permission, click Yes.
- Follow any additional prompts from Shift to finish uninstalling.
- Once finished, you'll see a confirmation message; click OK to close the window.
Note: We recommend restarting your computer to ensure that all changes take effect and your system settings are restored.
Uninstalling Shift on Windows 11
- Click the Start button, usually located at the bottom of your screen.
- Type “uninstall” in the search bar.
- Click on "Add or remove programs" from the results.
- You can type "Shift" in the "Search Apps" search bar or scroll to find it.
- Click on the three dots to the right of Shift, then select "Uninstall".
- Select Uninstall on the confirmation dialog.
- If a User Account Control (UAC) dialog box appears asking for permission, click Yes.
- Follow any steps on the screen to complete the uninstallation.
- A notification will appear once Shift has been successfully removed; click OK to close the window.
Note: We recommend restarting your computer to ensure that all changes take effect and your system settings are restored.

If the above steps do not work you may want to try uninstalling Shift via the Control Panel. Here are the steps:
Uninstalling Shift on Windows 10 and Windows 11 via Control Panel
- Click on the Start button, usually located at the bottom-left corner of your screen.
- Type “Control Panel” in the search bar and select the Control Panel app from the search results.
- In the Control Panel, click on Programs, and then select Programs and Features.
- Scroll down the list of installed programs to locate Shift.
- Click on Shift to select it, then click on the Uninstall button.
- Follow the prompts to confirm and complete the uninstallation.
- If prompted, restart your computer to finalize the process.
