How to remove apps in Shift Browser

  • Updated

You can remove apps in Shift Browser by right-clicking the app icon and selecting Remove app. If a specialized app isn't serving your workflow anymore, it's easy to delete it. You can always bring it back later by visiting the App Library.

Managing your apps in Shift Browser

Shift is built to move with you. If your sidebar feels a bit crowded, you can trim your tool stack in just a few clicks. It's a great way to keep your workspace clean and focused on the tasks that matter most.

Steps to remove an app

  1. Locate the app icon you want to remove in your sidebar or Space.

  2. Right-click the app icon to open the menu.

  3. Select Remove app (or Remove app shortcut).

  4. Confirm your choice by clicking Yes, Remove in the pop-up window.

Once it's gone, the app disappears from your setup. Since these are native integrations, they don't leave behind any clutter. If you change your mind, you'll find the app waiting for you in the App Library.

Organize your Shift workspace

Remember that apps in Shift aren't just website bookmarks. They're specialized apps that live inside your Space to help you stay in your flow. Keeping only the ones you need helps you orchestrate your web experience without the noise.

Why you might remove an app

  • Clear the clutter: Keep your sidebar lean so you don't get distracted.

  • Refresh your setup: Sometimes it's nice to start fresh with a new layout.

  • Fix issues: If an app isn't loading right, removing and re-adding it often helps.
