All about Shift Launch and On-Startup settings

What are Launch Settings? Launch settings make Shift start automatically when you turn on your computer. By default, this is ON.

How to Change Launch Settings:

  1. Open your computer's Settings.
  2. Click on Apps.
  3. Click on Startup.
  4. Find Shift and turn it off.

How to Change Launch Settings in Shift 

To change the settings in Shift:

  1. Open Shift
  2. Click on Quick Settings via the gear icon Quick Settings.svg.
  3. Click on Advanced Settings at the bottom.
  4. Go to System.
  5. Turn off "Open on wake" and "Open on login" as you need.

What are On-Startup Settings? On-startup settings let you choose what Shift does when you start it. You can:

  • Open a new tab
  • Continue where you left off
  • Open specific pages

How to Change On-Startup Settings:

  1. Open Shift.
  2. Click on Quick Settings via the gear icon Quick Settings.svg.
  3. Click on Advanced Settings at the bottom.
  4. Go to On Startup.
  5. Choose the options you want.
