Looking to further customize your Shift browser? This article will walk you through a high-level overview of the Quick and Advanced settings options available in Shift. 

How to Access Quick Settings in Shift

1. Go to the top right corner of Shift and click the settings gear icon
2. The Quick Settings drawer will open

Here in Quick Settings, you can access your extensions manager, browsing history, downloads, and bookmark manager. You can also access Shift Support via the Shift Knowledge Base. You can also Print from here and Search within a page.

Changing Shift's Appearance

You’ll be able to adjust Shift’s appearance in Quick Settings. 

1. Go to the top right corner of Shift and click the settings gear icon
2. The Quick Settings drawer will open
3. Scroll down to the 'Appearance' section and select your preference: 
   1. Auto: Changes with your system settings
   2. Light: Bright white or grey background
   3. Dark: Dark grey or black background

Hide your Bookmark bar

Need a bit more space on your screen? Open Quick Settings and toggle your bookmark bar off and on. 

1. Go to the top right corner of Shift and click the settings gear icon
2. The Quick Settings drawer will open
3. Scroll down to the 'Bookmark bar' toggle and set on or off to show or hide your bookmark bar

How to access Advanced Settings in Shift

1. Go to the top right corner of Shift and click the settings gear icon
2. The Quick Settings drawer will open
3. Click the "Advanced Settings" button at the bottom for more settings options

Advanced settings offer many more options for customizing and managing Shift. Here you’ll find the tools to manage your autofill & passwords, appearance, search engine, on startup settings, languages and much more.
