You can change themes in Shift Browser by clicking the gear icon to open Quick Settings and selecting your preferred mode and color. Shift offers light, dark, and system modes along with eight custom colors that adapt to your chosen interface for a consistent, personalized look.
Understanding themes
Themes change the appearance of Shift’s interface, including toolbars, sidebars, and navigation. Websites themselves, however, follow their own theme rules. For example:
If a website supports dark mode, it will typically appear dark when Shift is in Dark mode.
If a website doesn’t support theme switching, it will display in its default style, regardless of your Shift theme.
Theme options
Light mode: This gives you a bright, clean look that's great for day work.
Dark mode: This creates a muted interface that's easy on your eyes in low light.
System mode: Shift'll automatically match the light or dark settings of your computer.
Every mode includes eight customizable theme colors for even more personalization.
How to change your theme
Open Quick settings by clicking the gear icon
In the Personalization section, select your mode: light, dark, or system.
Choose a theme color from the eight available options.
Your chosen color adapts across both light and dark modes, creating a seamless look.
Color consistency across modes
Your selected color stays with you even when you switch modes. If you pick a color in light mode, Shift keeps that same color in dark mode. It adjusts the contrast automatically so your browser's always easy to read and looks great.
Shift isn't just a tool; it's a workspace that adapts to you. By choosing the right theme, you create a digital environment that feels like home and helps you focus on deep work.
