How to change themes in Shift Browser

  • Updated

You can change your theme in Shift Browser from Quick Settings. Choose between Light, Dark, or System mode, then select one of eight theme colors to personalize your browser.

How themes work

Themes change the appearance of the Shift Browser interface, including toolbars, sidebars, and navigation.

Websites manage their own themes, so they may not always match your selected browser theme.

For example:

  • Websites that support dark mode typically appear in dark mode when Shift Browser is set to Dark mode.
  • Websites that don't support theme switching continue to display their default appearance.

Theme options

Light mode

Uses a light interface that's well suited for bright environments.

Dark mode

Uses a darker interface that's easier to view in low-light environments.

System mode

Matches your operating system's current light or dark mode setting.

Each mode includes eight theme colors that you can choose from.

Change your theme

  1. Open Quick Settings by clicking the gear icon. Quick Settings.svg
  2. Under Personalization, select Light, Dark, or System.
  3. Choose one of the available theme colors.

Your changes are applied immediately.

Theme colors

Your selected theme color stays the same when you switch between Light and Dark modes. Shift automatically adjusts the color for each mode to maintain contrast and readability.
