App Shortcuts allow you to access the same app instance across multiple Spaces, for easy navigation to your most used app accounts. Rather than duplicate the same app across multiple Spaces, use App Shortcuts to streamline your setup and notifications.đ
How to add a shortcut when adding a new app
If you're adding a brand new app to your setup, use the steps below to add App shortcuts to other Spaces:
- Click into the Space you want to add the main app to and select the plus icon

- Click "Add App" from the options list.
- Search for the desired app and click on the app to select.
- The edit modal will open, this is where you can name the account, choose a color, and select your shortcut preferences.
- Under Space Shortcut, select whether youâd like to see this app in âAllâ Spaces or choose âCustomâ to select specific Spaces to add the app shortcut to.
- Click "Save" to confirm your setup.
How to add an App Shortcut from an existing app
If you want to create a new App Shortcut using an app you already have added to your setup, follow these steps:
- Right-click on the app.
- Select "Edit App" from the options list.
- The edit modal will open. From here you can select the shortcut to appear in âAllâ Spaces or choose âCustomâ to select specific Spaces to add the app shortcut to.
- Click "Save" to confirm.
How to add an App Shortcut in a new Workspace
If youâve just created a new Space, you might notice that your apps, set for âAllâ Spaces, do not automatically appear. To add the app shortcut to this new Space, you will need to edit the app and reset it to âAllâ.
- Right-click on the existing Asana app.
- Select "Edit App" from the options list.
- In the edit modal, select âAllâ or go to âCustomâ and make sure all Spaces are selected, including the new one.
- Hit "Save" to confirm your changes.
You should now see the app in your new Space.
