Notification badges are the small red numbers or dots you see beside Spaces or Apps in Shift. The badge on a Space shows the total number of unread items in that Space (including Apps). You can turn badges on or off for Apps and Spaces independently.

How to turn off badges for a Space

Don’t want to see the total unread count for a Space?

1. Right-click on the Space icon.
2. Toggle "Show Space Unread Badge" to OFF.

How to turn off badges for certain apps

1. Right-click on the app in the sidebar.
2. Toggle "Show Unread App Badge" ON or OFF.
3. If you want this app’s unread count to add to the Space’s total unread count, toggle "Include in Space Unread Badge" ON.

Note: This change applies only to this app. If you added the same app somewhere else, you’ll need to adjust it there too.
