Shopping add-on: How does it make money?

  • Updated

Shift Browser earns a small commission from retailers when you use a coupon or deal found through the Shopping add-on. This native integration is completely free for you to use. You'll never pay more for your items, and you'll often pay much less.

Our partnership with retailers

The Shopping add-on is a specialized app that lives in your sidebar to help you save money. We don't charge you a subscription fee to use it. Instead, we use a common system called affiliate partnerships.

When you click a deal or apply a coupon, the retailer knows Shift sent you. They pay us a small referral fee for helping them complete a sale. This is how many of your favorite free tools and extensions stay in business.

Transparent savings in Shift

We want to be clear about how this works so you can shop with confidence. Here is why this model is great for you:

  • No extra costs: Your price stays the same or goes down. Retailers pay the commission out of their own marketing budgets.

  • Verified discounts: We partner with trusted retailers to keep every discount accurate and fresh.

  • Native integration: Because the tool lives inside your Space, you don't have to install messy third-party extensions that slow down your computer.

Privacy and your data

We don't sell your personal data to make money. Our revenue comes strictly from the successful use of coupons and price comparisons. Shift treats your privacy as a baseline expectation. We only track the store domain and checkout details to see if a coupon worked.

If you want to learn more about how we protect your information, you can review the Privacy Policy.
