All about Quick settings

Looking to further customize your Shift browser? This article will walk you through a high-level overview of the Quick and Advanced settings options available in Shift. 

How to Access Quick Settings in Shift

  1. Locate "Quick Settings" marked by the gear icon Quick Settings.svg.
  2. The Quick Settings drawer will open.

Here in Quick Settings, you can access your extensions manager, browsing history, downloads, and bookmark manager. You can also access Shift Support and provide feedback via the Shift Knowledge Base by clicking on the Support & Feedback option. You can also Print from here, search within a page, or set Shift as your default browser

Opening a New Window

You can open a new window from the settings.

  1. Click the settings icon Quick Settings.svg to open Quick Settings.
  2. Under the "Tabs" option, click "New Window" to open a new window

Personalizing Shift

You’ll be able to personalize Shift’s appearance in Quick Settings. You can manage the browser's mode, theme, and customization under this panel. 

  1. Click the gear icon Quick Settings.svg to open Quick Settings.
  2. Scroll down to the 'Personalization' section and select your preference:
    1. Mode: You can choose the browser's mode from Dark, Light, and System default.
    2. Theme: You can choose a theme for the browser from the given options.
    3. Custom Layout: You can customize the browser under this option. 

 

Hide your Bookmark bar

Need a bit more space on your screen? Open Quick Settings and toggle your bookmark bar off and on. 

  1. Click the gear icon Quick Settings.svg to open Quick Settings.
  2. Scroll down to the 'Bookmark bar' toggle and set on or off to show or hide your bookmark bar

Show Shift Notification Badge

You can also select to show or hide the Shift Notification Badge by toggling the button off or on.
