You can import bookmarks into Shift Browser from another supported browser or from an HTML file. You can also export your bookmarks at any time to create a backup or move them to another browser.
Supported browsers
You can import bookmarks and other supported browsing data from:
- Chrome
- Microsoft Edge
- Firefox
- Brave
- Opera
- Vivaldi
- Arc
If your browser isn't listed, you can import your bookmarks from an HTML file instead.
Import bookmarks
Choose the option that matches where your bookmarks are currently stored.
Option 1: Import from a supported browser
Note: Before you begin, completely close the browser you're importing from.
- Open Shift Browser.
- Click the Quick Settings gear icon.
- Select Advanced settings.
- Open Accounts and Preferences.
- Next to Import Bookmarks and Settings, select Import.
- Choose the browser you want to import from.
- Follow the prompts to complete the import.
Option 2: Import from an HTML file
Use this option if your browser isn't supported or if you've already exported your bookmarks to an HTML file.
- Type chrome://bookmarks into the omnibox and press Enter.
- Select the More (three-dot) menu.
- Select Import bookmarks.
- Choose the HTML file from your device.
Rearrange imported bookmarks
You can organize imported bookmarks from either the Bookmarks Bar or the Bookmark Manager.
From the Bookmarks Bar
- Hover over the Bookmarks Bar.
- Click and drag a bookmark or folder to a new location.
From the Bookmark Manager
- Right-click the Bookmarks Bar.
- Select Bookmark Manager.
- Drag bookmarks or folders to reorganize them.
Export bookmarks
- Type chrome://bookmarks into the omnibox and press Enter.
- Select the More (three-dot) menu.
- Select Export bookmarks.
- Choose where you'd like to save the HTML file.
Tip: Save your exported bookmarks in a secure location. Once you've finished transferring them to another browser, you can delete the file if you no longer need it.
