PDF App: How to Save a PDF

The PDF app in Shift includes a dedicated local storage environment where you can securely store, categorize, and access your essential documents. Follow the step-by-step instructions below to save files to your dashboard and organize them using custom subfolders.

How to Save PDFs to the App

  1. Launch Shift and click the PDF app icon in your sidebar layout.

  2. Select My PDFs from the application's left-hand navigation menu.

  3. Import your document using one of two methods:

    • Drag and Drop: Click and hold your PDF file from your computer's desktop, drag it directly into the highlighted upload zone, and confirm to save.

    • File Browser: Click the Choose File button to open your computer's local folder explorer, select the target PDF, and click Open to commit it to the app storage framework.

How to Organize Your Documents

The main My PDFs directory acts as a master dashboard, displaying an aggregated timeline view of every PDF stored across all individual sub-folders. To declutter your workspace, you can build specialized folders:

1. Creating Custom Sub-Folders

  1. Locate the left-hand sidebar menu inside the PDF app.

  2. Click the plus button (+) situated directly beside the My PDFs menu header.

  3. Type a descriptive name for your new sub-folder in the text field (e.g., "Invoices," "Contracts," or "Client Assets").

  4. Click Save to finalize the folder creation.

2. Moving PDFs Between Sub-Folders

  1. Open the master My PDFs folder and locate the document you wish to transfer.

  2. Click the checkbox located immediately to the left of the PDF file name to select it.

  3. Look at the top-right toolbar menu and click the Move to option.

  4. Select your target destination sub-folder from the drop-down menu.

  5. Click the Move button to instantly apply your changes and route the file.
